9 questions you should ask before going out on a date

While the Video and Audio Call has given us a new way to meet and find our other half, it’s no surprise that we also want to see them offline.

It is always a good idea to get to know each other online, especially during this period, but apart from asking “do you hear me well?” or “can you see me?l”, what other questions do you choose to reach for a deeper connection? Maybe you like talking about your hobbies, TV series or shows you enjoy the most, or about the new bread recipe found on the internet, which turned out great, by the way.

Asking the right questions can tell you a lot about your partner. For that deeper connection involving more sensitive answers, you need a new arsenal, which we offer below.

1. Are you wearing a mask?

In a way, we ended up wearing masks like beach hats. Some understand their utility, while others use it as an accessory. Make sure you are on the same line regarding this topic, no matter what that line is.

2. What is the best advice you have received?

By asking this question, you hope to at least get some useful advice. Or maybe you might open a sensitive topic, getting to know much better the person behind the screen.

3. Do you make your bed in the morning?

Sounds childish? In fact, it is a subtle way to ask and find out about a person’s discipline. If they regularly do such an “insignificant” thing, think about what that someone will do for a person they care about, hoping that person they care about is actually you.

4. What could you talk about all day long?

If the answer or topic seems absurd to you, it would be better to stop the discussion now. Again, it’s a simple way to ask about their real passions and if the subject fascinates you too, we’re talking about a winning relationship.

5. If I were to honestly answer a question, what would it be?

Do you feel like exposing yourself this way? Remember that you are talking to the person you want to see face to face, so give them a chance to get to know you. In addition, what you really discover are the interests of your “on-screen partner”.

6. How long has it been since the last relationship?

It is important to know what material you are working with. Did they get out of a recent relationship or did they spend enough time wanting something serious with another person? Either way, now you know how to position yourself.

7. How come someone so nice is still alone?

First of all, you give them a compliment, which is always welcomed. Now comes the more difficult part: the answer may not be 100% honest, but more important than the answer is the details they give back. Maybe they are thinking too much on how to answer, or maybe their answer hides a little embarrassment. Pay attention to these details and you can build a very personal discussion later.

8. What have you done in the last 2 weekends?

Well, the last 2 weekends might be all your weekends. Maybe they spent so much time partying that they don’t remember anything. Or maybe they spent Saturday on the mountain and Sunday reading. Another way to find out more about their habits and personalities!

9. Who have you seen in the last couple of weeks?

I know this question may seem a little too personal or even aggressive, but right now it’s important to protect yourself. Maybe they have a small group of friends they meet occasionally or maybe they enjoy spending mornings at the seaside with strangers. It is your right to know if you have been exposed to the new virus and it is in your best interest to be safe.

What other questions do you use to get to know the person behind the screen better?
